The Indiana Trail Racing Series utilizes a points-based scoring system to harmonize the various distances available to participants.

  1. Points are based on official race results. ITRA will not make any adjustments.
  1. Points are awarded through a combination of official finish, official distance, and official finishing place (overall and age group).
  1. 1-point will be awarded for completing a Series race. No points will be awarded for a Did Not Finish (DNF).  If the race allows for “drop-downs,” you will receive points based on completing the distance that you dropped-down to.
  1. Points for distances are as follows:

<5 Miles …………………………………………….. 1 point

5 -13.1 Miles ………………………………………………… 2 point

13.1-26.1 Miles ……………………………………….. 3 points

26.2 Miles (Marathon) ……………………………. 4 points

50K – 49 Miles ………………………………………. 5 points

50 Miles ………………………………………………… 6 points

  1. Points for finishing place are as follows:

3rd Overall ……………………………………………… 4 points

1st AG ………………………………………………………. 3 points

2nd AG ……………………………………………………… 2 points

Final Series totals are based on each participants’ best four out of five races.

In addition, Participants can receive .5 bonus points per hour (Maximum of 10 points) for volunteering at a race, conducting trail maintenance or trail building, or crewing and pacing another runner. Volunteering is encouraged but not required.

Bonus points can also be earned by participating at the 8 Hours of Brown County.  1 point will be awarded for every 6 miles up to 5 points.  The overall mileage participant male and female will be awarded 3 points in addition.
